The president of Zambia has passed away at age 77. He died at night on Tuesday October 28th at the King Edward hospital in the United Kingdom after suffering from an undisclosed illness. Sata has had a couple of health challenges in the past that restrained him from making public appearances and at opposition lawmakers questioned if he was fit to rule over 15 million people. There were also rumors in September that he passed away after he failed to give a scheduled address at the United Nations and police said doctors treated him in a New York hotel room.
Mr Sata was born July 6,1937 and was elected Zambia’s president in September 2011. He is survived by wife Christine and several children. His death comes days after Zambia celebrated their 50th independence anniversary. May his soul rest in peace, AMEN.
