Ghana’s Wanlov the Kubolor flips the script on the sexual objectification of women in music videos with his latest video ‘My Toto’. In the video, the controversial rapper (born Emmanuel Owusu Bonsu) is seen striking poses that often video honeys are seen in as women keeping a straight face while miming the raunchy lyrics.
This is not the first time FOKN Bois member Wanlov shocks of course. The artist has always been critical with witty and scathing lyrics on subjects usually regarded as taboo in the African setting: sex, religion, race, politics among other such themes. Born in Romania in 1980, Wanlov he has to date released three solo albums and eight joint records with FOKN Bois partner M3nsa.
The video which has had mixed reactions since it was published on 25 March and has been seen almost 20,000 times was directed by spoken word act Mutombo Da Poet.
