Wana Sambo undoubtedly proved that she is indeed Nigeria’s Fashion Future on Sunday 26th April, 2015 at the Wana Sambo store opening at Fola Osibo, Lekki Phase 1, with the launch of her latest collection, ‘Modern Elegance’ with one of [email protected] finest female rappers Eva Alordiah. The event was classic, there was subtle music playing in the background, cocktail drinks and finger food for everyone, people catching up on old times, avenue to network and meet new faces. Esteemed clients, celebrities such as Eva Alordiah, one of Nigeria’s top female rappers who is also the face/ambassador of the collection, and fashion geeks came to show their love and support for Wana Sambo.
Basically, the 4 category collection was targeted at any woman who is not afraid to experience a different side of herself and experimenting with who she is, no matter her shape or body size.
The different categories of “Modern Elegance” collection ranged from “Cocktail” which featured boubou’s, embroidered floor sweeping gowns and flowing dresses, to “Work Chic” which was more of tailored gowns, blazers and pencil skirts. There were also pieces for the “Casual Chic” which had lots of flowing dresses, blouses and jumpsuits and then “Day Wear” which obviously featured pieces perfect for both corporate events and casual events, so you have nothing to worry if you can’t get to change for that date you have after work.
We must admit that in Wana Sambo’s ‘Modern Elegance’ collection the designer, Wana Sambo herself in her creativity played with colours and also made sure to keep all looks simple and clean using 100% African inspired pieces, though its designs and additional western influences make it Urban. The brand has been steady, growing stronger with various award nominations and also featured in the best print and online media within and outside Nigeria since its first official launch in December 2010 in Nigeria.
Wana Sambo has definitely kept everyone waiting in anticipation for the next collection.
