Australian singer and songwriter Sia is notoriously controlling of her public image, often performing with her back to the audience, wearing wigs when she steps out onto the red carpet, or using Maddie Ziegler to stand in for her in music videos, like she so memorably did in Sia’s “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart”. It’s no surprise then that Sia appears in a wig on the cover of April’s Interview, “I’m trying to have some control over my image. And I’m allowed to maintain some modicum of privacy,” she tells the glossy in an interview conducted by Wiig.
In the spread shot by Gregory Harris, the musician sports a variety of different wigs and the season’s coolest fashions, including a floral Simone Rocha look and Fall’s must-have Alexander Wang creeper boots. Sia also opens up about her upcoming project: a film. “I’m on page 65 now of the screenplay. I wrote a short story eight years ago. It’s called Sister, and I’m going to direct it. I just want to make a beautiful film. I’ve had it in my head for so long, so I want to try. Every now and again, I get scared…”
