In an unexpected twist, the world has answers to a question that they never asked – Is Robin Thicke on drugs?

According to legal documents filed by Robin Thicke, he was battling drug and alcohol problems at the time his song Blurred Lines became a massive hit. The legal documents, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter states that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams are being sued by Marvin Gaye’s family for the royalties for Blurred Lines, because they believe the pair ripped off Marvin Gaye’s hit track, Got to Give It Up.

But Robin Thicke and Pharrell are counter-suing, and in a legal deposition, Robin Thicke’s defense is that he didn’t actually write the track. Instead, he was “high” when he did interviews last year, and, jealous of Pharrell, he lied to the media about taking credit for the song.

The singer states that “Every day I woke up, I would take a Vicodin to start the day and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews. I was high and drunk every time I did an interview last year…So there are some quotes I don’t remember saying, but I do generally remember trying to sell the public on the fact that Blurred Lines was my idea in some way.”

Now Robin Thicke admits that even though he is now off the Vicodin, he still drinks, and he also admitted that coming clean about his addictions was the reason he split up with his estranged wife, Paula Patton. He revealed to THR, “I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.”
