First Rihanna for James Bond and now Naomi Campbell for Empire; the good thing about Hollywood is that people are not afraid to step out of their niche and try new vocations.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell will reportedly be joining the cast of a new series ‘Empire’ which is still being shot and hasn’t even aired its first episode yet. Naomi Campbell has landed a role in the Fox’s upcoming hip-hop drama which tells the story of an enterprise headed by Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Naomi Campbell will play Camilla, “an alluring woman involved in a steamy affair with the much younger potential heir to his father’s throne, Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), over whom she exercises considerable influence.”
The series is going to be directed by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. In a statement by Lee Daniels, Naomi Campbell is described as a beautiful actress, albeit underrated. Naomi Campbell will be joining a distinguished cast, which already includes Taraji P. Henson as Lucious’ ex-wife, Cookie Lyon, and Gabourey Sidibe as Lucious’ assistant, Becky.by
