She’s had us waiting for what feels like forever but Riri has dropped two new songs for us to obsess over in the mean time while we continue to anticipate her album release. All these singers these days are all about teasing and then dropping surprise albums, God knows what Rihanna has planned for her album release.

Earlier this month, we got a preview of “Dancing In The Dark” in a clip from the upcoming movie “Home”, for which RiRi lends her voice — but now we’ve got the whole thing. The island-inspired jam is catchy and probably destined to be a hit.

And then there’s “As Real As You And Me,” a somber, piano-driven ballad, where Rih shows off some impressive vocals. Produced by Rodney Jerkins and co-written by Rihanna, “As Real As You and Me” is a tender piano ballad about confronting and accepting all of life’s difficult goodbyes. Rihanna delivers a breathy, passionate vocal performance.

Rihanna’s admitted she wants to create more timeless songs and jusging by these two tracks we’d say she’s well on her way to getting there. She’s also hinted that she might hit us with a sound we’re not accustomed to but hey she’s forever been a chameleon so whatever she sends our way we’ll embrace. Check her out below speaking about her album which should be released some time this year but when exactly we’re not too sure.

“I’ve made a lot of songs that are really, really big songs,” she told MTV News about her new album this week. “From the jump, they just blow up. And I wanted to kind of get back to — not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever.”

“I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years; I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years. Not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs. They don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.”
