Pop singer Miley Cyrus is known for her tongue sticking-twerking-risqué clothing self and while we have learned to love her for it; it seems the Dominican Republic is having none of that. The Wrecking Ball singer and former Disney sweetheart has been banned from performing in the Dominican Republic on morality grounds.
Miley Cyrus, whose concerts are well-known for their controversy, whether she’s twerking, grabbing her crotch or doing unspeakable things with huge foam fingers, was set to perform at a concert in Dominican Republic on the 13th of September but not anymore.
According to reports, the Dominican Republic government commission that oversees public performances has banned a 13 September gig by Miley, releasing a pretty strict statement saying that the singer “undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.”
No public comment has come forth from Milye Cyrus of the organisers of the concert in the Dominican Repbulic yet but we can bet that her fans are already unhappy about this development as tickets for the concert have been on sale since July.
