A deserved grand finale to a spectacular four-day fashion extravaganza came with Thula Sindi’s exciting collection on the fourth and final day of Mercedes Benz Johannesburg Fashion Week.
The contemporary label established in 2005 putting its unique stamp on office wear and occasion wear with its highly-crafted and timeless pieces dazzled the audience with another sophisticated collection, taking fashionistas – in their own words – “into a magical fantasy and capturing your imagination.”Capturing our imaginations this time around were the key principles of simplicity and subtlety of the label’s Autumn/Winter ’12-13 collection creating the trademark Thula Sindi feminine sihouettes withclean lines (details were kept to a minimum except for some lace and metallic detailing and some splashes of florals on otherwise straightforward blacks) and natural fabrics.
Granted, the collection featured mostly daywear looks, but with such sophisticated style, there was no need for any gratuitous flamboyance. And the showstopper of all eveningwear? The final look of the collection – a glam yet incredibly simply sophisticated golden number.
