Supermodel Kate Moss and ace luxury brand designer, Stella McCartney have teamed up just as Breast Cancer awareness month starts this October to create a new campaign that will support the cause.
The British designer, who just showed her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Paris Fashion Week, created a hot pink lingerie set which is modelled by Kate Moss.
The bras and underwear are special edition of her Gemma Relaxing line, which is priced between $40 and $80, will hopefully encourage and remind women to give themselves self-exams when getting dressed and proceeds from the sales will support the Linda McCartney Centre in the U.K.
Speaking to WWD, Stella McCartney states “There are so many women affected by this terrible disease and even more people affected by the loss of the incredible women in their lives.”
Stella McCartney’s mother passed away from breast cancer in 1998 at the age of 56 and it resulted in the designer creating the Linda McCartney Centre. According to Stella McCartney the proceeds from the sales of the set would help fund a new Mammography suite. She states, “If I had known then, what I know today about breast cancer, I think my mum would still be alive and I don’t think there is anything more important than having your loved ones in your lives for as long as possible. If you can prevent this illness coming into your life and destroying your family unit, then there is nothing more important. I can’t think of anything more important than staying healthy for yourself and for your loved ones.”by
