Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore was dropped from being the face of a new tourism campaign in Turkey over what they called her “poor acting skills”.
Representatives at the Culture and Tourism Ministry were reportedly unsatisfied with the footage which featured the actress on a plane recalling childhood memories of her visits to Turkey.
They asked for a reshoot of the Ad but Moore allegedly refused and now the Turkish politicians have decided not to run the campaign, according to the local Hurriyet Daily News.
Representatives for Moore and the Turkish government have yet to comment on the matter and the campaign footage remains unreleased.
It is a large irony that Julianne More who won Best Actress for her role in family drama Still Alice at the Academy Awards in February and gained much acclaim for her roles in several movies was slammed by Turkey for not being good enough.
Until we see the Ad campaign footage then conclusions can be made.
