Nigerian fashion label Fruché has just released the lookbook for its spring/summer 2015 collection, titled Bastille.
Fruché ss15 draws inspiration from British rock band, Bastille. The creative director of the brand; Frank Aghuno was very much inspired by their style of music. He was mostly intrigued by their remixes and covers of pop songs and the way the band gave them an ethereal vibe.
The lookbook is a collaboration with the creative director’s twin brother; Fred Aghuno who is an artist. He hand painted the three backgrounds, which are inspired by the colours, prints and patterns in the collection.
This collection is a mix of pop culture with the quirkiness of indie sensibilities. With a mix of organza, chiffon, silk-cotton, cotton and satin. In spring like colours of peach, mustard, champagne, white, blue, black and striped fabric of varying weights to give off depth texture but unison of colour. Incorporating volume with exaggerated sleeves to asymmetrical and unstructured pieces. This collection is eclectic and
modern yet reserved, a double entendre of sorts.
