They say beauty is only skin deep but whether you are ‘for’ or ‘against’ this view is irrelevant.

Don’t ask why.

Everyone one wants to be beautiful, just as the sky is blue, the oceans are wide, diamonds are forever, so is the love of beauty. Having beautiful skin gives you the confidence that all the money in the world cannot buy. I recently made changes in my diet and added more fruits and fibres that enhance flawless skin. Allow me to share five delicious fruits that work wonders for your skin:

KIWI:

When I first set my eyes on the kiwi fruit my first thought was “definitely not gonna eat that”! But I soon had a change of heart when I realized how greatly it could benefit my skin and my total well-being.

Packed with more vitamin C than an equivalent quantity of orange, the juicy bright green flesh of the kiwi fruit is an excellent way of improving your body’s vitamin C content which goes a long way to ensure healthy, clear beautiful skin. Adequate intake of vitamin C has been shown to be helpful in preventing conditions like colon cancer, atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease.

Kiwis are rich in pectin and fibre, which strengthen digestion. Kiwi is often reported to have mild laxative effects due to its significant level of dietary fibre so if you have a delicate stomach like I do then be sure to be around a ‘convenience’ when you chose to indulge in this delicious fruit.

PAPAYA:

Commonly known as ‘pawpaw’, this fruit is a natural exfoliating tonic. It has a rich vitamin A content, which helps for spotless skin. In everyday health, pawpaw works magic on boosting the immune system, the ‘papain’ enzymes contained in this fruit helps with digestion, it breaks down the protein from the food we consume into amino acids. Not only is the juicy inside of the pawpaw fruit healthy, the seeds, stems and leaves of this fruit also have medicinal benefits.

APPLE:

‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’ definitely makes my top ten most heard quote list. Despite the stereotypical description of the health benefits of this fruit, we can all agree that it contains an impressive list of essential nutrients. Apples are low in calories and have amazing toning capabilities. You can achieve perfectly toned and conditioned skin if you eat apples regularly… and of course ‘keep the doctor away’.

POMEGRANATE:

My first knowledge of the pomegranate fruit left me enamored, I first knew of this fruit while indulging one of my hobbies – Greek mythology. The pomegranate featured prominently in the myth of ‘Persephone’, the goddess of the underworld. I could go on but I won’t.

Now on to the health benefits of the pomegranate fruit.

Pomegranates are superb for over all skin health, this red fruit is a good source of vitamin C, vitamin B5 and potassium. It is also packed with anti-oxidants, which fight against free radicals, control the appearance of acne and prevent wrinkles.

LEMON:

Regular intake of citrus fruits guarantees clear skin. If you want youthfully flawless skin, choose citrus fruits such as orange, mandarins of the trusty old lemon.  Lemons have high vitamin C content, which is very good for the skin.

Add these fruits to your everyday diet and enjoy glowing, flawless skin!

Yes, pineapples are also very good, they are rich in Alpha-Hydroxy acid which slows down the aging process. Simply extract the pineapple juice and apply to your face with cotton ball, rinse off after 5 minutes (do not let it exceed 5 minutes so it doesn’t irritate your skin).
Eating pineapple on the other hand helps with heart and kidney problems and is also beneficial for women suffering from irregular and painful periods.
