For Autumn/Winter 2014 and her fourth season at Fashion Scout, Turkish designer Zeynep Tosun presented a collection which encapsulated seventies silhouettes combined with modern street style and sports luxe design. Rusty hues and raw edges of the aptly named collection, “Oxidised”, help to create the industrial feel the designer is inspired by.
Tosun mixes and matches, in true street style, puffy jackets with emphasised shouldered dresses, edgy and streamlined sport luxe designs with softer, more flowing ’70s midi skirts and wide leg trousers. Streamlined and oversize blend seamlessly in each look.
Fur and leather panelling, soft wool crepe and lavish brocade dominate the collection creating a tactile feel while the dominant colours Zeynep Tosun opts for autumnal, earthen and rusty.
Each look is perfectly accessorised with statement boxy bags with faux fur trims, block heel boots, big belts and oversize vintage hats with leather visors all in the ’70s spirit.
Istanbul native Zeynep Tosun studied fashion design at the Instituto di Marangoni in Milan before gaining experience working as part of the Alberta Ferretti design team. A season Fashion Scout designer, we can’t wait to see what Tosun has got planned for her next collection.
