Rita Marley,widow of reggae legend, Bob Marley, has been bestowed with an honourary Ghanaian citizenship.
Queen mother as she is fondly called received her new Ghanaian passport, Saturday August 3, at the AU Diaspora African Forum Mission’s Awards Dinner, which held at La Palm Hotel, Accra.
Rita Marley has been officially domiciled in Ghana for so many years, devoting her time to charity projects , as well as operating a recording studio and helping to organise Africa Unite concerts.
Few years back she was enstooled Nana Afua Abodea I (Queen of Development) , Aqwapim region.
Christened, Alpharita Constantia Andersonat at naissance in Cuba, she grew up in the upper level of Beachwood Avenue, located in Kingston, Jamaica, where she resided with her late husband until his death in 1981 .
