The Tuface and Friends Campus Connect gig sponsored by Amstel Malta was interpreted in every sense of the essence of the show. The gig which has been touring other universities finally made a stop at Abuja recently. Tuface (who spear headed the musical performances) was joined by the inhabitants of Abuja in a night of electrified excitement at the Tiffany Gardens in Gwagwalada.
When Tuface mounted that stage, it felt like the crowd could and would never get enough of him. The thunderous reception was surprising, the applause was almost intimidating as the superstar climbed up stage to perform ‘For instance’, ‘Bush meat’, ‘NfanaIbaga’, ‘U no holy pass’, ‘See me so’, ‘No shaking’, ‘Enter the place’, ‘Implication’, ‘African Queen’ and then the ‘Ihe Ne Me’ from the album, “Away and Beyond”. The audience couldn’t hold it down; they couldn’t contain their joy as they went wild with excitement whilst Tuface creatively went from song to song in freestyle with the swiftness and smoothness of the master that he is.
Other performances from Eva, Sound Sultan, Blacka, Young Grace, Rocksteady, Damy Crane, Sheyi Shay, Rough Coil, Vector, Solid Star, Azadus and Cupa Victory filled the air whilst up and coming artistes, Skills, Ofomental, M.C Amana, Unique, Promate, Mima and BKD joined in to render their numbers too.
Mr Abayomi Abidakun, representing Doyin Owotomo, Brand Manager, Amstel Malta was beyond happy as he spoke his heart, deeply impresses by the turnout of the students, the outstanding musical performances and applauded the musical orientation of the Abuja students and for their love of music. ‘I am so humbled with the unprecedented turn out for this gig that is being powered by Amstel Malta. Amstel Malta has always championed and advanced the cause of youths by encouraging them to be the best they can be. Hence, tonight’s performance is also a clear demonstration of being able to connect to the University students and the good people of Abuja. The Amstel Malta brand has a penchant for promoting good values in the youths in a bid to chart a good course for Nigeria as a nation. Tuface and his friends have been awesome and Amstel Malta, the low sugar premium brand is indeed delighted to be associated with them’’.
Apart from being a night to be much remembered, the gig remains one that will be looked forward to by the students and all that participated as it left a lasting impact on all.
