British Urban Star, Loick Essien will be celebrating this week as his new single, “Me Without You” is added to the Radio 1 playlist.

Loick (pronounced Lu-week) burst into the music scene when he first appeared in a variety of music videos including the Big Brovaz “OK”. After being spotted by Richard Blackwood, he was offered the opportunity to co-present MTV Select. After having collaborated with Chipmunk on the track “Beast”, Loick went on to record and write with some of the best urban talent around including the likes of N-Dubz, Labrinth and James Fauntleroy and recently toured with the sensational Alexis Jordan.

The follow up to his number 2 success of “How We Roll” is taken from his forthcoming album, Identity which is to be released in 2012. The MOBO nominated star sold over 220 thousand copies of his former “How We Roll” single – and having close to three million video hits online – expectations for the new single are set high. Having co-written the track, Loick shows his vulnerable side with a raw insight into the love and heartache that we can all relate to. The singer said, “There’s nothing worse than ending a relationship with someone you don’t want to break up with. This song is about trying to rebuild your life when it feels like you can’t go on without them. Everyone has felt like that at some point and it’s something we can all relate to.”
