Delectable Lupita Nyong’o, shines again at the SAG awards on Saturday, receiving the first award of the night as best supporting actress in, 12 years a Slave. She expressed gratitude to director, Steve McQueen ”for taking a flashlight and shining it underneath the floorboards of this nation and reminding us what it is we stand on.” The Kenyan star recollected her ecstatic phone conversation with her dad when she got the part for the film, ”Daddy, do you know who Brad Pitt is? I’m going to be in a movie with him! And he said, ‘I don’t know him personally, but I’m glad you got a job.”

 ‘Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.” Bradley Cooper said to the director of American Hustle, David O. Russel on behalf of the cast- Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Christian Bale.  American Hustle, based on a 1970s FBI sting operation, walked away with the top honour for the outstanding performance by a movie cast award, at the ceremony that evening.

Modern family was not shunned amongst the television series category ending up with the outstanding performance by an ensemble in comedy series. The best actress honour went to Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, “For those who voted for me, I thank you, and for those who didn’t, better luck next year,” Cate said in her acceptance speech while Matthew  McConaughey received the best actor award for his role in, Dallas Buyers Club.

 Jared Leto, Lupita’s rumoured actor-boyfriend and co -star to Matthew McConaughey in, Dallas Buyers Club also received an award for his performance. He thanked his mother calling her the ‘hottest date in town’ and dedicated the award to those who have died of AIDS including “the Rayons of the world.”

Classic British actress, Emma Thompson doing the unbelievable, crept behind Lupita to make a funny face while the Kenyan actress was striking a pose on the red carpet. This is a first for Emma who was stepping out of her norm to photobomb, Lupita Nyong’o.
