KOF has released his eagerly anticipated EP - KOF - An Alternative Soul via his own label, Nothin But The Music. The EP marks a landmark moment for KOF – the last 12 months has seen a growth in the interest in his work, and this has seen his last 3 singles, ‘Looking At Me”, “Be Like You” & “Child Of The Ghetto” all receiving extensive TV & Radio play across the UK & beyond.
A refreshing difference in the current market, An Alternative Soul represents KOF’s growth as an artist. Over the last 4 years his work has shown a level of maturity and honesty that many other UK artists have found difficult to match. The title, An Alternative Soul, refers to KOF’s view on the music he makes – soul music infused with various genres, ranging from hip-hop, R&B, reggae, D&B, dubstep, garage and even folk. And also the fact that he sees himself as a bit of an alternative soul and personality too. KOF is the epitome of An Alternative Soul.
The release of the EP happens alongside the nationwide Alternative Soul tour, which will see KOF bringing his brand of quality, well composed music to his fans across the UK. He will be accompanied by his six piece band.
2012 started with a bang with KOF being cited as “One To Watch” by CNN in America, as well as being a “Hot For 2012” artist, selected by BBC Radio 1Xtra. KOF has gone on to collaborate with the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Dev (acclaimed guitarist), singer Terri Walker, legendary African Artist Manu Dibango as well as UK rappers Lioness, Manga, Ratlin, Kobi Onyame & Wrigz. Further KOF’s work has recently taken him across the world – he has worked extensively in Europe, with two sold out shows at the recent music industry conference MIDEM in Cannes and he filmed the video for “Child Of The Ghetto” in St Lucia.
