Vans, a United States based manufacturer of shoes is taking fashion collaborations to a new level by joining hands with Della, a socially-responsible LA-based company employing more than 50 women in the developing villages of Ghana, West Africa to create a collection of six sneakers all have different hand-dyed fabrics made through the tradition Batik process.
The Vans X Della collection offers six models featuring colorful Della fabrics perfect for the spring season. Each pair will be one-of-a-kind in design and also in building a bridge between fashion and social consciousness.
According to founder and creative director of Della, “Della is a socially responsible fashion line that works with a team of women in Ghana, West Africa. We started out making accessories and bridged out to clothing. Rather than just produce clothing, we provide steady jobs, fair wages, education, skills and literacy training to the women.”
The Ranging in price form $60 to $70, the high and low top shoes are a funky way to step into spring. But fashion aside, what’s even more vital is what each shoe means, and for that we rate it a FAB collaboration.
