TROPICAL PRINTS: Florals are getting a makeover in the form of stylized Hawaiian motifs, and they’re taking over. If traditional floral prints seem stale and old fashioned, try this new take on the fashion staple instead. The tropical Prints.
Spotted Tropical inspired pieces from Virgo’s lounge new range
You can do it like Beyoncé in a pair of Stella McCartney Hawaiian print silk pants. And she even had the fashion fortitude to match the already attention getting pants, with bright yellow pumps. You can also find this $60 cropped printed trousers from Zara for a similar look.
Or keep it simple like LaLa Anthony wearing a Givenchy ‘Bird of Paradise’ Resort 2012 dress to a recent taping of Good Day New York. She completed her look with an on trend topknot hairstyle, and Christian Louboutin ‘Summerissima’ platform sandals.
Or like my favorite girl Rihanna, who’s often on the forefront of what’s hot in fashion in a less colorful version of the Hawaiian print trend, donning a pair of Alexander Wang printed high rise skinny jeans. She paired her floral pants with a chambray blouse, and Alexander Wang ‘Joan’ pumps. You can get the same understated Hawaiian floral denim look with these $54 ASOS skinny jeans in midnight Hawaiian print.
TIE & DYE JEANS: I first spotted this trend with our Nigerian designer, Amede at the AMFW runway show dominated by tie&dye fabrics which she made for herself.
The dark-inky skinny maybe with a classic plain white tee and blazer.
Lighter washes in powder-blue work well with pale pinks and purples (which shouldn’t be hard to find given this seasons huge pastel trend).
You can make the look edgy by teaming your tie dye jeans with a jacket, rock-band tee and studded accessories. I particularly like how well Olivia Palermo has played with her pair!by
