With the help of social media we were able to take a look inside the 2014 Met Gala as A-list celebrities ate, laughed and generally mixed. Where else can one see so many celebrities in one place except at the Met Gala? With $25,000 a plate, the celebrities sure looked like they had a marvelous time!
A $25,000 party ticket may seem like a good reason to shut off your phone and get off the grid for the evening but celebrities could not stay off Instagram as they shared photo after photo last night. We could not get enough of the lavish affair and we lived vicariously through their Instagram feeds.
Check out our 22 favorite social media moments of the night. They say so much more about the 2014 Met Ball than straightforward, red-carpet photos ever could.
The night started off with preparations, naturally. Kim Kardashian gave us a peek into the army that got her ready for the Met Gala (really, how many people did she need?), actress Rashida Jones also showed that she could multi-task and Taylor Swift and model friend Karlie Kloss dressed up together (how cute!). One of our favourite looks for the night was Suki Waterhouse in Burberry Prorsum but who could have guessed that under that gorgeous dress the model had on boots?
Getting ready for the Met Gala was followed by actually heading to the gala, but first who can resist a few snaps? It seems the Kardashian family was all about getting in as many Instagram photos as they could before the night even started!
At the 2014 Met Gala, the celebrities showed that they are truly no different from us as a lot of them could not resist joint selfies as well as bathroom snaps – at least now we know we are not the only ones who sneak off during dinners just to take a mirror selfie or bathroom picture!
The Met Gala gave us an opportunity to see all our favourite people together in one place – Lupita and Janelle Monae, Solange and Lupita, Beyonce and Lupita (Lupita wins all round!), Rita Ora and Joan Smalls and many more celebrity snaps. We even got to see a smiling Kanye West, which does not happen every day.
At $25,000 a pop for the 2014 Met Gala we were extremely curious to see what the celebrities would be eating, especially to see if it would be laced with gold. Thanks to a few Instagram uploads we got a glimpse of the meals and to be honest we are more than glad to stick to our regular meals!
Now when any one asks you can say you had a first-class experience at the 2014 Met Gala as well; via Instagram anyway.by
