International luxury champagne brand, Dom Perignon and leading Nigerian fashion label, Maki Oh, gathered a glamorous crowd on Thursday 16th May 2013 to a Dom Perignon Vintage 2003 champagne tasting and private presentation of the Maki Oh autumn/winter collection at the Tarino Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos.
In an atmosphere of sheer sophistication, some of Nigeria’s most glamorous women gathered to enjoy the elegance of revered fine champagne, Dom Perignon. Guests tasted and savored the suppleness of the newly launched Dom Perignon Vintage 2003 champagne, from the first impression to its long-lasting finish. The event also featured an exclusive runway presentation of fashion designer, Maki Oh’s autumn/winter 2013 collection; a selection of relaxed and sophisticated pieces interpreted with exceptional fabrics and defined cuts.
Founded by Amaka Osakwe, the eponymous fashion label is internationally known for its strong sense of individuality and African identity; its ability to create alluring conversational pieces that fuse traditional techniques with detailed construction. Maki Oh’s increasing creative success continues to earn the brand a star-studded cast of fans and startling reviews both in Nigeria and on the international fashion scene. The brand’s panache for prints and its sass for strategic cuts have bestowed on it a global attribution with “emotion, intuition, sex and fashion”, all of which was enjoyed at the private presentation sponsored by luxury champagne, Dom Perignon.
