The organisers of Africa Fashion Show Geneva, Crucible Events and Planners (CEP), have announced the model castings for the second edition of the show will be held on at 11am on Saturday, 17 May 2014 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Geneva.
Following on from the resounding success of the first edition of AFSG held in June 2013, this year’s show will be held at the Château des Penthes, one of Geneva’s most prestigious venues, alongside the “Here Africa” art exhibition organised by Art for the World (AFTW).
Africa Fashion Show Geneva requires models of all ethnicities, with female models at least 175cm in height (5’9”) and 34-38 in dress size (6-10 UK size) and male models at least 180cm (5’11”).
Taking place over two days, the event will commence with a runway fashion show on Friday, 30 May 2014 at 19.30 at Château des Penthes and will feature designs from Africa’s brightest talents, such as Cy’MUN (Cynthia Mnwangari, Burundi), Manye Styles (Gifty Kpentey, Ghana), EmmaFor (Republic of Guinea), A la Pointe du Caftan (Samira el Mouhssine et Said Mahmoudi, Morocco), Ahdookeh (Morenikeji Fatai Agoro, Nigeria), Baldon Clothiers (Adedoyin Balogun, Nigeria) and Malleni Designs (Peace Malleni, Uganda), and culminate in an exclusive gala evening on Saturday, 31 May 2014 at 19.30 at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Geneva.
Alongside an exclusive runway show, the gala event will also feature live performances by Nigerian rap and hip-hop artist Babatunde and US-based Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and emcee Maimouna “Mumu Fresh” Youssef.
The event is set to host distinguished guests such of the Genève International, the diplomatic and UN community, as well as, African Ambassadors in Geneva and leading names in Swiss business, media and fashion.

On the day of the casting:
- Female models must wear black/blue fitted jeans and a white vest top and must also bring black only, high heel stiletto shoes (minimum height 4 inches)
- Male models must wear black/blue fitted jeans and a white vest top
- All models must bring a 5 by 6 printed colour picture (headshot) which must be left behind and will not be returned – please ensure that you print your name, email address and phone number on the back of the picture (pictures on laptops, ipads, websites, phones etc would not be accepted)
- All models must present their statistics – stats needed for female models is height, bust and cup size, waist, hips, dress and shoe size, for male models, height, chest, collar size, waist and shoe size
