South Sudanese model Grace Bol was listed in our “11 New Generation Models You Have To Know” post from yesterday, if you missed it read it here. The world seems to have fully embraced the use of Ethnic models for campaigns – Grace Bol, alongside Drake Burnette and Irene Hiemstra were featured in i-D Magazine’s Pre-Spring 2014 editorial.
The three models are stunning in the striking editorial “The Right Face At The Right Time” featuring new and known faces in a 32 page spread photographed by Daniel Jackson. One has to ask the question though, why is 23-year-old Grace Bol the most naked in this editorial? Clad only in a fishnet plunging neckline vest with a leather jacket around her waist, Grace Bol’s look is that of defiance.
Her page quotes, “The future of fashion is more dark skinned girls because that’s what’s missing among the supermodel stars”.
Are we the only ones that think she didn’t have to be this naked, especially as she is the only one baring all?
