Vanessa Hudgens would always remain in our hearts the sweet innocent girl who was in love with Zac Efron in the musical drama of Disney Channels “High School Musical”. She is however determined to change that perspective and said so in an interview with Nylon magazine.
Far from her days as a Disney kid, the 25 year old actress she says she’s a ‘girl growing into a woman and being passionate and taking choices.’ She talks about her new role playing a pregnant teen runaway is no laughing matter and Hudgens has been praised for her dramatic acting in the movie.
“I don’t think it’s ‘good girl gone bad.’ I think it’s more ‘girl growing into a woman and being passionate and taking choices.’ I have so much work to do, and I think I will always feel that way.”
On Her Gimme Shelter Role:
“It was the first time I really stepped out of my control zone, physically and material-wise. I’m a little afraid of myself when I watch it.”
On What’s Ahead:
“I know God’s plan for me is bigger than anything I could ever plan for myself. It allows me to not worry about the future or what other people think and just to be present and enjoy and try to shine as much as I can.”
The February Issue of Nylon Magazine will be available on newsstands by January 29. Her new movie, Gimme Shelter, looks mind-blowing. It is about a teenager sets out to find her Wall Street father and is forced into the streets in a desperate journey of survival. Based on a true story. See the trailer below:
