After a short break to refresh and focus on her new album, acclaimed Afro-soul queen Lami Phillips is back in the run up to the release of her new album, with a video for ‘Titi LaiLai” produced by S TWO Media featuring numerous celebrities.
Shot by Wong Fae Hong and styled by Tiannah Styling which sees Lami in a series of glam rock looks, the video plays host to actors Femi Jacobs and Jumoke Bello, presenter IK Osakioduwa, as well as artists Waje, Kel, Dammy Krane, Praiz, multi-talented singer and OAP Tosyn Bucknor, DJs Sose and Spinall, OAP Bola Sonola.
The video shows Lami arriving into the country in a private jet, getting pampered by Blush and Sacred beauty teams and Hair Whisperer before hitting the stage at Don Jazzy’s club Pop. Due for release in the next few weeks, it signals the return of Afro-soul queen who is back in Lagos to work with producers and promote her new album.
Singer, songwriter & UN Ambassador with a passion for positive change, Lami Phillips (LAMI) was born in Chicago, Illinois, where she spent her early years. Growing up, Lami was always surrounded by all genres of music, as her parents and siblings were all music enthusiasts.
A few years after completing her Executive MBA from Pennsylvania State University, she decided to take a risk and return to Lagos, Nigeria, to start working on her debut album Intuition making waves with hits such as “Know”, “Ere-ife”, “Ori Mi Wu”.
After a brief break from the limelight, Lami is currently working on her sophomore album and the viral video for “Titi LaiLai” is a funk soul track written and composed by Lami Phillips, produced by Femi Temowo (Mobo award nominee for Best Jazz Artist; guitarist & producer to Amy Winehouse, George Benson, The Roots and more) and the first step back into the limelight for the artist and the latest single off her sophomore album, Pieces of Love due for release in mid-2013.
