TV viewers nationwide broke down in tears while watching the BBC’s ‘Damilola, Our Loved Boy’ tonight.
The 90-minute film takes the viewers back in time to the year 2000, when Damilola was found bleeding to death in a stairwell in Peckham, London, just weeks before his 11th birthday.
He had been stabbed in the leg with a broken bottle as he walked home from a library, just months after moving to Britain from Nigeria.
Two years after his murder, following Damilola’s parents Richard and Gloria’s fight for justice, four youths, including two 16-year-old brothers, were put on trial at the Old Bailey.
It was only after a third trial were teenage brothers Danny and Ricky Preddie jailed for killing 10-year-old Damilola Taylor.
TV viewers cried for the 10-year-old taking to Twitter sharing their emotions.

#DamilolaOurLovedBoy no parent should have 2live through the tragedy of losing a child in such circumstances. Knife crime still a big issue

Nobody deserves to have their life taken away from them, no parent deserves to bury their child. #DamilolaOurLovedBoy
