FAB Spotlight: Vote for Tonisha Tagoe as the face of Vox Africa

Tonisha Tagoe is the C.E.O of U Media Films, Founder, Chair, and Director of Asantewaa – A charitable Trust which works to support the positive development of young African women aged 16- 25 on the African continent onto the corporate platforms within their home countries- and Head Of FIlm and Arts Accreditation at Kids Company – Urban Academy (Centre Of Excellence) based in London Bridge.

Ghana born, Tonisha has over 7years of experience in working with young people and the community using New Media and Film as material for engaging audiences and building community cohesion. Tonisha has demonstrated impeccable leadership skills and at a young age is responsible for managing a team of eight from the Arts team. She liaises with corporations to fund raise and raise awareness of not only the efforts of Kids Company, but also the accomplishments of the vulnerable young people.

Her work in Film and Television has ranged from producing documentaries such as Hearts In Harlesden for the Brent Archives with Carib Productions, to working as part of the on location film crew on feature film Adulthood released in 2008. Also a member of Bafta’s We Need You initiative, through which Bafta selected 100 of the most promising film makers to come together with full ongoing support of the organisation and its partners.

In 2009, U Media Films was launched and saw Tonisha go from strength to strength and produce television programming for BET Television UK, MTV Africa and Produced various short films of which one -‘Door to Door’ – was a part of the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. Tonisha’s strong work ethic and passion for film making has seen her effortlessly secure long lasting relationships with film distribution companies as well as Television Channels.

She is continuously passionate about her local community and is always looking at way to improve on the use of community spaces and the opportunities available to who lack resources. Her track record is impeccable with successful training projects being run on behalf of some of the UK’s leading housing providers and UK local authorities.

Tonisha is a positive example of a young entrepreneur who is fearless and driven by making a difference. Her work both in the UK and Africa has been seen her become one of the UK’s leading film makers and community activist. Her enthusiasm and readiness to instigate change and challenge authority clearly makes her stand out as a woman to look out for.She is also the producer of the hit azonto video  that stars ‘Fuse ODG Feat. Tiffany’, the video  has spread worldwide like wildfire, gaining about 4million YouTube views to date, it doesnt stop there however, expect lots more entertainment to come from what what you’ve already heard and if you havent already seen it watch the azonto video below.
