Every woman has the potential to look breathtaking in pink lipstick, our lips are the perfect God-given canvas for this shade. While some women shy away from using pink lipstick, it is a look that is quite easy to achieve, especially when you want to make your luscious lips the focal point of your face.

With the tips below you should be able to pull off the hot pink lipstick look without looking like you just arrived from the 80s in a time machine.

Exfoliate your lips

Exfoliating your lips will get rid of dead skin cells and reveal fresher, pinker and healthier looking lips. This always serves as a good base for your lipstick.

You can make a simple homemade sugar and honey scrub or you can get any of your favourite brands behind the makeup counter.

Skip the lip liner

Although it is advisable to use lip liner to give your lips definition, in this case it is better to do without it. Applying your pink lipstick without lipliner will give you a more youthful appearance, if you have full-sized lips and want to make them look smaller then opt for clear lipgloss instead of a liner. Apply your lip gloss at the center of your lower lip, the less lipgloss applied, the better.

Remember to blot

Apply your lipstick with a lip brush or better still your finger tips. After the first application be sure to blot with tissue, this will get rid of any excess lipstick and prevent your lips from looking caked.

Re-apply a second base

After the initial application of your pink lipstick, re-apply another base. This will give your lipstick staying power and ensure that it doesn’t get smeared off as you go about your daily routine.

The beauty about the pink lipstick is that it comes in so many delightful shades!

Remember to make sure your eye makeup is subdued so it doesn’t clash with your lipstick. Try eye shadows in neutral shades that blend with your skin tone and let you lips do the talking.

Be FABulous!
