Tyra Banks is one supermodel who loves to set a pace in the fashion and beauty industry. Having gone to Harvard Business School, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she always has more than a few ideas in her head about how to stay on top of her game – while protecting her fame and profit.
Tyra Banks is already known as an American television personality, producer, author, actress, and former model – but we guess one more title of beautician wouldn’t hurt.
Diversifying her portfolio, 40-year-old Tyra Banks has announced that she is launching a beauty company. Of course with everything Tyra, it’s a bit over the top and is described as a “beautytainment” venture that’s the supposed to be the “future of beauty.” She introduces her latest venture with a flashy video.
Part of Tyra’s cosmetics company is based on a model of direct selling. Salespeople, which the model calls “beautytainers,” throw parties or set up online shops where they can sell Tyra-branded products to other people.
Speaking to People about TYRA Beauty, the top model said: “The creation of my cosmetics experience has been years in the making. Do you know how good it feels to finally be able to tell the world why I attended Harvard Business School? I truly learned how to master building and leading my own cosmetics experience. Without make-up, I would have never been a supermodel. I don’t wake up with naturally sculpted cheekbones – I paint them on! I believe make-up is the great beauty equaliser.”
