KINABUTI ‘FASHION ELITE PARTY’

With a full diary of  bank holiday events, the FAB diary would not have been complete without supporting the Kinabuti Fashion Elite Party on Saturday 30th April 2011. Nigerian-based Italian designer behind the Kinabuti fashion label Caterina Bortolussi hosted an exclusive fund-raising event at the Reeds Restaurant and Lounge in Lagos. The event was supported by FAB Magazine, Grey Goose Vodka, Smooth FM 98.1 and Storm 360. The event was a truly special marking of the Kinabuti not-for-profit initiative, committed to using fashion as a vehicle to empower the Nigerian young generation through the development of vocational skills and new job opportunities.

The night was also a truly special gathering of Lagos’s finest in fashion, music and entertainment. If guests weren’t sporting Kinabuti then they were giving Afrocentric looks a glamorous spin on the red blue carpet. It was lovely to see Reeds decorated with the ‘In Our Ghetto’ models  from Bhundu, Port Harcourt majestically dressed in Kinabuti, giving us an energetically, fierce fashion show and dance routine. We were also treated with great performances by Sasha and ‘Port Harcourt Boy’ Duncan Mighty. After yummy, mouth fulls of Oriental nibbles we all boogied down to music provided by Storm 360 while in-house mixes of Grey Goose cocktails were at the ready.
