Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is one of Nollywood’s biggest stars and she knows it! The inspiring actress clearly can’t be satisfied with average. ‘Motola as she is fondly called, is so in our faces – with the numerous numbers of movies she has appeared in – but we never get bored as she relentlessly churns out new and creative ways to better her craft.

The A-list, star actress is back with another one – Amina – the movie that tells the story of a young woman who is overwhelmed with many of life’s setbacks (including getting pregnant as a teenager), who finds solace in the one seemingly true person that appears to be able to save her: her doctor at the mental hospital. The problem is the doctor has to deal with his own issues before he can extend to Amina his helping hand. Omotola plays the lead role (Amina) alongside Ghanaian star actor, Van Vicker; Will Johnson (who plays the role of the doctor), Vincent Reagan and Alisson Carroll.

The movie which was shot in 2011, written and produced by Nigerian born filmmaker, Christian Ashaiku and will have its first showing at the Empire Cinema, Leicester Square, UK on October 17. The film has been named the ‘first British Nollywood movie’ so the premier is going to be big! Also performing will be Sway and Will Johnson.

Omotola’s big break came in 1995 with the movie, Moral Inheritance. She has since featured in a whole lot of other Nollywood movies. In 2005, Omotola went into music which she considers as dear to her heart as acting. Omotola is well sought-after in the movie industry and amongst the great movies she has starred in are Ije (The journey), Blood Sister, Games Women Play, My Best Friend.
