African fashion continues to push at global boundaries. It has been revealed that Nigerian fashion label Deola, formerly known as Deola Sagoe, will be the 1st Nigerian design brand to showcase on the official Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week schedule.
The New York Fashion Week, billed to begin on the 4th of September 2014, will be an avenue for Deola to make its official debut for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection. The Nigerian fashion brand is to be joined by other African-International New York Fashion Week staples BCBG Max Azria (Tunisia), David Tlale (South Africa) & Herve Leger (Tunisa).
Also billed on the schedule is Clan, the young and trendy clothing line owned by Deola Sagoe’s daughters. Other designers who will be seen at the New York Fashion Week include Donna Karan New York, BOSS, Ralph Lauren, J. Mendel, Calvin Klein, Tory Burch, Vivienne Hu, J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste and more.
