She’s wearing very toned down make up, while her hair appears untamed and her natural dark brown color. For The Fader‘s Fall Fashion issue, Nicki Minaj lets out Victoria’s secret with lingerie-themed ensembles and soft black waves.
In the cover story with FADER, Nicki discusses the impending album The Pink Print which she calls “the blueprint for female rappers to come”, her career starting out as a Queens rapper with a somewhat crazy personality and much more. The first lady of Young Money discusses family, fame & black women in pop culture.
While she keeps a tight lip about her forthcoming album The Pink Print and engagement rumors, she gets teary-eyed when discussing the sacrifices she’s made for her family and how she’d like her hustle to help pave the way for women of color in the mainstream.
“I’ve done things where people are like, ‘Uhhhh,’” she said. “But every time I do a business venture or something that isn’t the norm for a female rapper, I pat myself on the back. It’s important that corporate America can see a young black woman being able to sell things outside of music.”
