North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has issued a new state decree that has got us wondering. Male university students in North Korea are now required to get the same haircut as their leader Kim Jong-un – A square-headed under-shave. The 31-year-old’s look is simple: Short and slicked back on top, buzzed to the skin above both ears.
Reasons for the haircut mandate were not give and according to reports from BBC, the state-sanctioned guideline was introduced in the capital Pyongyang about two weeks ago but haircuts have been state-approved in North Korea for some time seeing as people were reportedly only allowed to choose from 18 styles for women and 10 for men.
This seems like a weird decree, especially since reasons are not exactly given for this. If the speculations and reports are true then it means Kim Jong-un is simply carrying on his dictatorship duties as usual.
Former leader Kim Jong-il, who ruled for 17 years, sported a similar haircut albeit a slightly more voluminous one.
