New York fashion week kicked off on Wednesday. So far,  we have seen BCBG Max Azria, Nicholas K, Richard Chai and Cushnie et Ochs.

Over At BCBG Max Azria. The flowly dresses from last season carried on, but, without those white turtleneck bodysuit underneath. The progression form last season were the addition of slits and thin straps to give it this light and effortless feel.

The silhouette seemed really general, in the sense that it would be very flattering for most figures.

Richard Chai was next With his burst of light Lush colours and florals. The boys had pencil trousers rolled up to the ankle, emphasizing the black brogues with neon coloured soles. The appearance was mostly smart look made casual( blazers with sleeves rolled up , button up shirt worn with short etc)

the Ladies on the other hand were left to do with the florals. one would think that all these artsy type florals would be overwhelming but really it felt quite pretty, but pretty in a cool-New York -badass way and not like the flowers (see lindsey Wixson to emphasize my point.. the girl below, on the right)

Cushnie et Ochs on the Other hand were still still lusting on the strict form from last season. They showed form fitting clothes with sharp edges (especially around the bust area). I really enjoyed the strict and ruled vibe the silhouettes gave. I also even joyed the colour various from white to black with pretty colour in between.

The thing i take away from the shows of yesterday, is the possibility of the open shoulder being a Huge trend (its a bit too early to talk about trends). it was seen at BCBG, Richard chai and Nicholas K. Especially in the rip sleeve manner (refer ot Lindsay again)
