Two words could be used to describe the event: Glamour and Fun!
The Miss Ghana 2012 Street Fashion Show held on the evening of Saturday 20th October, 2012 at Osu Oxford Street in Accra, Ghana and it indeed lived up to expectations. It was organized by Exclusive Events Ghana, also organizers of the Miss Ghana pageant, and they promised it would be the “most stylish fashion show ever”.
The event attracted a lot of people and quite a large patronage, and it has been described as a historic event. There was a large crowd gathered just in time for the show, and it included many fashion lovers and fashion designers as well, who all went in hopes that they would be thrilled by a whole new and different fashion event, and it turned out to be exactly that in the end!
The finalists of this year’s pageant strut the runway with some amazing designs from some of Ghana’s top fashion houses including Details by Neyomi, Anasimba by Zita, Wendy L’artisan, INKA, POQUA POQU, Ettien Hans, Naa Dei Morgan, Nubian Vogue, Ndytsi by Akorfa and Ciba.
From casual wear to the really trendy modern-day look to evening wear, the runway looked fascinating and very stylish. The finalists dazzled in some remarkable pieces as the crowd looked on in excitement and as each contestant took her turn to show off various designs and collections, the crowd would cheer her on. They got the perfect opportunities to show their modelling talents to the large crowd.
The show also featured musical performances from D Black, Raquel, Swag Society, JOEY B, D2, Sherifa Gunu, E-Nice and Sammy Lee. The Miss Ghana Street Fashion Show also attracted a lot of celebrities including the Mayor of Accra Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Abeiku Santana, as well as some other dignitaries.
The hosts for the night were Prince Ato Turkson of Choice 102.3 FM and Miriam Osei Agyemang of Pravda 93.5 FM. Lots of souvenirs were also won on that day as promised.
