Dax Martin Chocolatier Collection sponsored by Magnum was a decadent dreamscape of chocolate sweetness which would have doubtless made the sponsors proud and the audience reaching out for a Magnum ice cream to cool down.
The swimwear brand born in 2003 and featured on the covers of numerous South African glossies which is solely designed and produced in Durban to create employment and high-end fashion products of which South Africa was also the swimwear label of choice for the 2008 Miss World Beauty pageant. This collection was, however, all about lingerie and underwear.
The colour palette was clearly inspired by Magnum, with creams and dark, decadent browns taking centre stage, and there was something for everyone from lashings of lace to smooth satin, from low cut one pieces to long flowing layers and pyjama pants to cover up the less confident, from playful babydolls to tiny two piece numbers for the more daring. And boys didn’t leave much to the imagination, except for a few pyjama pants, baring much more than skin us red-blooded females could handle in fitted pieces.
Overall a sizzling show, one of the hottest of the day and stylish, sophisticated undergarments from one of South Africa’s finest.
