Kenyan born, American film star Edi Mue Gathegi, is known by the ladies for his killer smile yet this rising young thespian is known by the movie world for his gripping roles in a host of incredible movies. He remains amongst the few Africans to break into the Hollywood scene and making giant strides up the ladder from one camera shot to the next.
Many of us where wowed by his interperation of his role as Laurent in the blockburster :”Twilight” and it’s sequel “Twilight Saga: New Moon”.
He has also featured in films such as X-Men : First class, Gone Baby Gone, Nikita, Crank, My Bloody Valentine and the television series: House. Proof, Red Widow, Beauty And The Beast et al.
Born March 10 , 1979 in Eastlands, Nairobi, Kenya, Gathegi grew up in Albany, California and studied at the New York’s University Graduate Acting Programme at the Tisch School Of Arts. He was nominated for the Ovation awards in 2011 for the role of Franco Wicks in the Geffen Playhouse production of “Superior Donuts”. He also got a Teen Choice awards nomination for his role in X-Men same year.
