The Lagos Fashion and Design Week is one annual event that keeps the city of Lagos busy with all fashion lovers storming the venue to see their favorite collection and support growing brands in the fashion industry. The event lasted for four days and it was worth the time. We brought you all the highlights from the first two days, we are glad to let you in on all the delight-some and classy outfits from the last two days. It is easy to say that the best was saved for the last.
Day 3 saw some fashion designers in the likes of Kiki Kamanu, Iconic Invanity, Lisa Folawiyo, Orange culture, Iamisigo amongst others shocase their collections. See amazing collections from the third day of Lagos Fashion and Design Week below.
Kiki Kamanu
Kiki Kmamnu tagged her spring/summer 2015 collection “First Kiss”. Her models dazzled in very feminine and gorgeous looking outfits as they graced the runway. The designer also got the attention of the audience with a #BringBackOurGirls tee shirt rocked by one of the models. Adding a little drama, one of her model also came out holding a McDonald pack of chips.
Iconic Invanity
Iconic Invanity did not fail to deliver. The designer showcased her collection which had the signature Iconic Invanity embellishments. Her collection comprised of dresses, skirts, cropped tops etc.
Lisa Folawiyo
Lisa Folawiyo closed the third day of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week with her amazing spring/summer 2015 collection. The collection had earlier been showcased at New York Fashion week but it still did not fail to deliver its ‘gorgeousness’ Her collection comprises of mostly ankara dresses, pants and skirts. Day 4 which also marked the last day of this year’s Lagos Fashion and Design week had a packed list of famous African designers. Designers who showcased on this day include Mai Atafo, Lanre Da Silva, Tiffany Amber, Okunoren Twins, Ituen Basi, Wana Sambo amongst many others. It was a long battle trying to decide which designer nailed the runway with their outfits as most of the designers showcased amazing pieces. However we have some favorite which we would love to show you. Take a look at those amazing collections below.
Mai Atafo
Mai Atafo had previously showcased at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week Africa before returning to Lagos to showcase at the Lagos Fashion and Design week. He showcased similar outfits as he did at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week but he didn’t disappoint the audience at all as he was able to add a little spice to his collection. He showcased suits, blazers etc.
Tiffany Amber
Tiffany Amber who just recently celebrated 15 years in the fashion industry was among the designers who showcased on the last day of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week. Just as she has been delivering in the past 15 years, she didn’t fail to deliver one more time with her collection. Outfits were made with colorful print materials, chiffon material etc.
Lanre Da Silva
This designer showcased a collection that was inspired by the famous Olumo Rock in Abeaokuta, Ogun State Nigeria. Her collection comprised of shift dresses, cropped tops, cocktail dresses etc. Most of the outfits were made from Lace and Shiny Satin materials.
Ituen Basi is one of our favorite designer. She showcased her new line “Ituen” at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week. Her Spring/Summer 2015 collection were made with very unique prints. She made use of Lagos-theme prints, flower prints and she took it further with the ruler-theme print which gave the school look. Her models stun the runway wearing geek glasses.
Okunoren Twins
This menswear brand showcased their Spring/Summer 2015 collection on the last day of the Lagos Fashion and Design week. Their collection comprised of corporate and casual ready to wear attires with a little bit of traditional styles infused into them. See collection below.
This year’s edition of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week was in all way stylish and classy. We can’t wait to spot people rocking these new designs and what we also can’t wait for is the next Lagos Fashion and Design Week.
