The-Limited-Scandal-Collection-Launch

Kerry Washington has been killing it on the red carpet lately but it isn’t even her lovely and FAB outfits that we are taking notice of this but the effortless and yet chic way in which she styled her hair for a recent event.

The Scandal actress was recently in attendance of The Limited Scandal Collection Launch Event at IAC Building on September 22, 2014 in New York City. For the event the gorgeous Kerry Washington wore a Giles dress paired with Roger Vivier shoes and clutch, Effy earrings and a Movado wristwatch.

We were simply captivated by her hair as she rocked a beautiful goddess-inspired loose fishtail braid swept to one side, rosy cheeks and a smokey eye. She was positively glowing. The loose and lovely side-plait is an excellent way to show off the different hues through longer brunette hair. The braid was feminine yet dramatic, which allowed her to go with minimal jewelry and her braid was more than enough to accessorize her neckline.

This is not the first time Kerry Washington is rocking the fishtail braid as that was her hair look in February for the 2014 NAACP Image Awards.

Check out how to get the look below, according to Sue Nonn for Hollywood Life:

  1. Curl hair with a 1.5″ curling iron. Allow curls to cool, and gently rub John Barrett Be Hold Styling Balm in hands and fingers, then comb through for added texture and piece-y look.
  2. Gently tease hair at crown then loosely gather hair into a ponytail and secure ponytail extensions around hair. For added texture, leave a thick section of the teased, texturized hair outside the braid. We’ll use these pieces to wrap around the braided pony (just at nape of the neck).
  3. Rub more product in hands and begin fishtail braid, incorporating both hair extensions (for a fuller look) and original hair. Braid loosely and secure with elastic.
  4. Gently fan out braid with thumbs for added piecey-ness and texture (add product as needed). Pull pieces out to frame either side of face and to add softness. Adjust and style with fingers and hands.
