Jennifer Cattlin is not new to the world of fashion, modelling, film and print work. She has worked alongside the industry’s elite in London, New York and Tokyo.
She offers bespoke collections in Hatinets and fascinators for the everyday woman who desires that spectacular outlook for the Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, Weddings and Garden Parties.
She veered into millinery design via studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She was tutored by the late Queen Mother’s milliner in London before embarking on an extensive period developing my own designs.
One of the celebrities that have adorned her famous pieces is Angie Best, English model and former wife to footballer George Best.
As penned by BBC Journalist Sophie Van Brugen:
Pupil of the late queen mother’s milliner, and Henley Royal Regatta exhibitor; fascinator designer Jennifer Cattlin has landed in London. Her fascinators are crafted bespoke for every occasion from summer garden parties and weddings to elite sporting events and high profile parties.
Jennifer’s individual style caters for all clients, creating headpieces both raw and edgy in nature to sleek, classic and sophisticated.Jennifer discovered her skill for making fascinators when she refused to pay absurd amounts for a fascinator for a wedding and instead decided to make her own. She now runs a small business from her home studio and has a loyal following.
With her roots newly planted in West London, her design goal is to make beautiful and affordable pieces veering away from the mass replicated high-street products. Her most popular main range varies from £30 – £100. However, she does produce one off designs at a higher rate for the lady who wants a real showstopper.
For many years Jennifer Cattlin has been involved in the word of fashion, modelling, film working alongside the industry’s elite in London, New York and Tokyo. From the catwalks and film sets, Jennifer now finds herself in the studio using her trained eye and tested techniques to create the perfect headpiece for that special occasion.
“Jennifer designed the most stylish fascinator for me to wear at my sister in-law’s wedding. It was elegant and fun everyone commented on how lovely they thought it was.”
In her chat with us recently, Caitlin speaks of her brand and what inspires such great pieces.
Who is the ‘Jennifer Cattlin’ woman?
The Jennifer Cattlin women is a confident and sassy lady who loves to dress up for the occasion and look unique.
What inspired your latest collection?
My latest collection is inspired the colours and textures of spring and summer. The shapes I make range from raw and organic to structured and classic.
Of the pieces from this collection which one would you say is your masterpiece/favourite, and why?
I’d pick Spring Burst (below) because it captures my organic style and is a great example of my unique ‘Hatinator’ sized pieces, which I am encouraging my clients to buy as a much more comfortable alternative to hats.
Any celebrity fans so far? Or ideal celebrity to get in a Jennifer Cattlin piece?
I have had a few local celebrities model my pieces such as Angie Best. Ideally I’d love to design some edgy and colourful pieces for Kate Middleton, as I think she’s a great role model to women worldwide and would be a great brand ambassador and reflection of my classy clients.
What can we expect next from the brand?
I intend to keep broadening the brand range, largely based on the requests from clients, to include increasingly flamboyant designs for major events including Henley, Ascot, Formal garden parties etc. My London clients are typically a little younger and more adventurous and welcome the bespoke nature of having unique pieces to match their sophisticated wardrobe, this allows me to span designs between raw and edgy to sleek and classic.
Wowing pieces I must say!
