Its no news that most celebrity relationships don’t last but there were a few romantic affairs that had us thinking they were perfect for each other. Here are a few celebrities we wanted together forever:

1. Wizkid and Tani Omotayo

This is a recent one! we had hoped the lovebirds were going to last together forever but Wizkid shocked us when he announced his single status on the radio show Drive-Time With Gbemi on Beat FM. “My friend is fine. We’re cool, we’re cool. But I’m single now you know. Yeah, I’m single now. But it’s all love. I got love for her. She’s like my best friend anyways.” He replied the question.” The singer said. Tania and Wizkid reportedly ended their relationship based on baby mama issues. However, this is an unconfirmed report as the former couple ended their relationship on a mature and quiet note.

2. Beverly Osu and Angelo Collins

Known for their heated sex scenes in the Big Brother Africa competition, Beverly Osu and Angelo Collins were the talk of the The Chase edition of the game show. Barely a few months after the show in 2013, the fairytale onscreen relationship came to a halt. It all started when Angelo who claimed he was single was rumoured to have a model girlfriend in South Africa. It was so sad that the Beverly and Angelo brouhaha came to an end officially in January 2014. Beverly blamed Nigerians for her breakup with Angelo in an interview with hiphopworld:

“We have broken up. Is it not Nigerians that caused it? Today, one paper will say Beverly is with this man, tomorrow another paper will say another thing, I don’t know.” She said.

3. Ice Prince & Yvonne Nwosu

They seemed like the world’s perfect match! Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince and Vonne Couture designer, Yvonne Nwosu were all luvy duvy about their relationship. Yvonne especially didn’t mind the whole world knowing, as she openly showed off the affair on her Instagram page, telling whoever cared to know, to eat their heart out. After only a few weeks, something seem to have changed.  Yvonne took to her twitter account and tweeted: ”I’ m single, sexy and loving it!!! A new Ken for this Barbie…Maybe..” She wrote. The couple broke up quietly.

4. Ice Prince and Yvonne Nelson

Ice prince again started dating Ghanaian actress & model Yvonne Nelson. This time we thought the ‘Aboki’ rapper had found true love but their love bubble was short lived as news of their breakup buzzed the headlines for a few days.

5. Femi Kuti and Funke Kuti

Afro-beat legend Femi Kuti and the former Weird Mc manager Funke Kuti who were married for a couple of years wrapped up their divorce  in 2013. We thought these couple were a match made in heaven until they went their separate ways in 2004.

“My marriage didn’t last because my wife didn’t listen to me. I told her I loved women. I like women around me and I will not be faithful to one woman. My wife wasn’t comfortable with my fame and the women in my life and that was why we had to part ways,” Femi said.
Though the two estranged lovers have moved on with life, they are still reported be fond of each other.

6.Davido and Funmi Aboderin

The relationship crumbled just a few weeks after the OBO star Davido posted a picture on Instagram all cuddly with his ex-girlfriend Funmi Aboderin. Shocking everyone, Davido decided the relationship wasn’t worth he hassle. He revealed in a tweet that he wasn’t heartbroken:

7. D’Banj and Genevieve

The relationship which kicked off late 2009 after the two met at the airport, became public when D’banj granted an exclusive interview to Stella Dimoko Korkus in March 2010, expressing his feelings for Miss Nnaji. D’banj said:

“We have been trying to keep this quiet but yes, I am dating Genevieve Nnaji. I am in love with her. It’s been long I felt this way about anyone. I don’t know what other words to use to qualify my feelings. She’s my baby, she’s my every thing and I love her.”

Sources close to the couple revealed that it wasn’t only the other women in D’banj’s life that ended their relationship but also Genevieve’s lack of commitment to the relationship. D’banj was said to have been hurt after he heard that Genevieve had allegedly dated another popular Nigerian singer.
