Between 1995-97, the artist Eileen Perrier photographed members of her extended family in the front rooms of their London homes. The colours of the Ghanaian national flag are referenced in the makeshift studio backdrop. The colour of the backdrop, choice of dress and photographs in the background reflect the cultural heritage of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations of Perrier’s family living in London.
