2012 is almost over, and as the years draws to a close, expect to see a number of top 10, top 25 and top 100 lists of anything and everything crop up. As with most things 21st century, social media leads the way with an All Stars 2012 line-up created by Lemon.ly

Quite American-centric, but the video still gives us an idea of top social media platfroms of choice for 2012, with Facebook – surprise, surprise! – in the lead with 101 billion active users and above average mobile user numbers, with Twitter, Instagram and relatively new kid on the social media block Pinterest as strong contenders.

YouTube remains a firm favourite right below the top four while – lo and behold – Google + seems to have gone up in the ranks.

There is even a mention of the ‘young upstart’ Path which has barely missed the lineup but has high hopes for 2013.

In this video infographic Lemon.ly presents its third annual unveiling of the Social Media All Stars lineup.
