This season the Fashion Scout’s platform named Renli Su, Hannah Williams and Helen Lawrence as the ‘Ones to Watch’.

Opening the show was Hannah Williams who brought unconventional fabrics and innovative cutting techniques stealing the spotlight, using a palette of grey, black, lime and a touch of soft pink. From translucent PVC, edgy elements of plastic and super cute pastel coloured knitwear and elements of deconstructive tailoring the whole collection exuded a hot fashionable ‘cave woman’ look, think ‘The Croods’ meets hot couture.

Sculpture with fashion and moulding techniques used to give the illusion of pockets, seams and statement 1902 jewellery were all brought by designer Hannah Williams creating beautiful ‘moulded’ garments and breathtaking rare designs.

Closing the Ones To Watch showcase, we saw Renli Su’s collection titled ‘The Tranquility of the Working Class’. Inspired by the lifestyles of nomadic people, particularly those in Central Asia, Renli’s hand stitched collection showcased woven details, frayed textures and delicately crocheted neutral coloured head wear. The collection was uniformed through it’s military undertone, androgynous cuts and heavy textured fabrics, with culture a key theme throughout, a look I thought looked very high fashion ‘Amish’.
