Maybe it is the Turk in me, or maybe it is the soft silk fabric that floated ether-like as models stormed the runway, Nihan Buruk seemed to have brought a little bit of Istanbul with NIAN Spring/Summer 2014 collection to a rainy London on the first day of London Fashion Week.

Styled by Nesley Nazari, NIAN Spring/Summer 2014 collection featured strong androgynous lines with sleeveless blazers paired with swimsuits juxtaposed with fluttering soft tailoring in delightful print dresses, asymmetrical skirts and short shorts in lime green, cerulean blue and off-white and deep blue paired wirh panelled blouses – all accessorised with white winged heels I’d so want in my closet.

There was a little something for the men too from NIAN in the form of tailored suits, shorts and turquoise shirts.

The Yeditepe University Fashion and Textile Design graduate, known for her avant-garde style, who has been honing her design aesthetic in her Istanbul based studio since 2007 and who showcased last season with the RunWay Collective took her bow in front of a full house including Made in Chelsea stars and fashion bloggers, Rosie Fortescue and Oliver Proudlock on the front row.
