Just because it’s AW season doesn’t mean we can’t all use a bit of colour, so Mimi Fasi’s collection proved to be refreshing and much needed.
Standing out from the crowd, the collection had a rainbow effect, in the sense that the many colours used created a kaleidoscope of colours as you saw them go one by one down the catwalk.
Heavily inspired by North African architecture and culture she says “I’m very much inspired by the North African way of life. The way they celebrate their weddings and build their houses with so much colour, particularly the tiled mosques”. This can definitely bee seen the geometric print which was in an array of bold colours like fuchsia, turquoise, Blue, green and orange.
There were many different styles used like the Grecian style geometric patterned dress, to the more tailored style and fitted colourful dresses. Also the two piece suits had a very 50’s cut and vintage feel.
Ultimately the combination of architecture with Mediterranean style created a collection that stood in its own right.
