Krystof Strozyna’s spring summer 2014 collection takes its inspiration from lips something that you couldn’t miss within the details of the pieces. The lips were used as an icon for POP culture and a symbol of sensuality.
The lips heavily influenced the cut and shape of the items within the collection, for instance the pockets collars and sleeves were derived from abstract linear patterns of lips.
There was a simple range of colours used within the collection, but in a way that allowed each piece to complement the other, like a sun kissed yellow trouser paired with a white shirt. I particularly like the ombre effect used on one of the items, as it gave the impressions, that summer was bursting out of the garment, whilst still paying homage to spring.
A three dimensional aspect is also shown through the structure of jackets, aided by the pleating, and the pieces succeeded in portraying wearable art for a modern day woman.
The models all maintained stern facial expressions with dark eyebrows, and angular cut wigs, that immediately caught your attention. I look forward to what he has to offer next collection.
